Hello,
and welcome to the physics of speed skating web site! Throughout the page we will discuss Kinetics, Forces, energy and how they relate to speed skating. Just a few clarifying notes:
- I will be using the 500m sprint as our base distance for all of these calculation
- 500m is 4 ½ laps on a 111m track
- We will also be using my personal best time for this year while doing the calculations which is 55.4s
- I had to get a bit creative with calculations because I originally had videos but I couldn't get them off the site, so I had to do screen caps of the important parts of the videos; I problem solved.
- If you go to the twitter and facebook symbols at the top of the page you will hopefully be linked to my clubs twitter, which I run, and facebook, which I partially run, so if you have questions feel free to ask them their.
*note if you somehow found this website and you are not my physics teacher I would just like to say physics is not my best subject... I mean I love it and it fascinates me but you if you are looking for 100% correct information this is not your site
